  Before I got my eye put out
  I liked as well to seeâ€"
  As other Creatures, that have Eyes
  And know no other wayâ€"
  
  But were it told to meâ€"Todayâ€"
  That I might have the sky
  For mineâ€"I tell you that my Heart
  Would split, for size of meâ€"
  
  The Meadowsâ€"mineâ€"
  The Mountainsâ€"mineâ€"
  All Forestsâ€"Stintless Starsâ€"
  As much of Noon as I could take
  Between my finite eyesâ€"
  
  The Motions of the Dipping Birdsâ€"
  The Morning's Amber Roadâ€"
  For mineâ€"to look at when I likedâ€"
  The News would strike me deadâ€"
  
  So saferâ€"guessâ€"with just my soul
  Upon the Window paneâ€"
  Where other Creatures put their eyesâ€"
