MY first Knitting Design: MIL Cowl
I wanted to knit something for my mother-in-law for Christmas. I know that she doesn’t understand my obsession with knitting so all the more reason to make her something. I started knitting a lace scarf and it was going well, until I had a moment of frustration and had to frog back about 6 rows… I was less than halfway done so I decided to rip it all out and make something stress-free. If you are a lace knitter who finds lace “relaxing” then please pass me that crack you are smoking and disregard this anti-lace post. Okay, its not “anti-lace” but this certainly is a design to overcome stress during the holidays. Even if you are like me and you do very little Christmas shopping, very little gifting and avoid get-togethers like the Christmas plague, you still feel the stress of December. Knitting a lace scarf was the wrong idea for a December project! So I started knitting a cowl for the MIL and never looked back… and seriously, I made it up as I went along. then I decided to share it with anyone who has no clue what to make for that person on their list… but you know you want it to be a hand knit gift… Enjoy!
Do not stress during December!

After installing my stats I was pleasantly surprised to see so many people visiting from all over! Thank you so much for reading and please feel free to leave a comment, email me at BattleofKnits@gmail.com or send me a message on Ravelry.com… find me as Slychikadee! If you knit this design, I would love to see a picture!

I am totally going to try that. You know, after the self-imposed hiatus is over. I have to do school stuff. I’ve a paper due on Tuesday. I’m two paragraphs into my introduction and watching Spiderman 3. So, not going to well . . . .
Thanks for sharing this! I want to make a “snood” out of it and will just make it a little longer and a smidgen wider to pull up over the head?
Just found this pattern on Ravelry. Needed a couple of quick gifts for friends of my daughter who we just found out are coming to town for the holidays. Thanks so much! I’ll try to get some pictures up on Rav and will send you a PM when they’re done!
Joanne: Thanks! I would love to see some pics!!!
Susan: I would just Cast on 20 more stitches, it is pretty adaptable. I was going for easy-as-pie and I think I nailed it. Can’t wait to see your finished result!
Allie:
Good Luck on the paper! Send me a picture if you knit this!!! Miss you!
