Battle of Knits

I'm just trying to keep it real… while knitting.

I joined a congo…

http://hyenacart.com/Home2Home/ I joined the Home 2 Home Congo. I will be stocking my items with some other mamas who make diapers. There is some nice diapers and other things in the congo, so be sure and check it out! There is nothing more wonderful than cloth diapering… well, except supporting stay at home Moms!

I am going to let my Hyena Cart lapse, since it is cheaper to go with the congo and it easier to advertise when you have 7-8 other Moms helping! I can also focus more on stocking the congo. Stop by and check it out, tell me what you think!

Cast on: Tiny cables Sweater & more.

I LOVE this yarn! Queensland Collection, BEBE COTSOY in BC-03 Lavender. I finally cast on for the Tiny Cables sweater. It is challenging, since I have never worked from a pattern before.

How am I going to decorate this? Flowers? Seems cliche but what else is there?

I feel fortunate.

I miss cable.

Today the cable man is supposed to show up. I am waiting patiently but I miss my tv shows and my Internet connection. I am able to get online, but I can’t upload any photos to blogger! I am hoping to be able to catch a rerun of my new fave show “Out of the Wild: The Alaska Experiment” since I missed it on Tuesday night. I love that show and I am dying to know what happened! I really hope the Discovery Channel does some more shows like this. It is a wonderful reality show concept. They drop off a group of regular people in Alaska, give them supplies and a map and they just have to survive and travel from camp to camp. No money involved, no prizes… just the satisfaction of a job well done… and well, porcupine & squirrel stew I guess!
I joined a new Ravelry group called Eya’s brave new testers” as a challenge. I am such a newbie at knitting, but this particular pattern called “Tiny Cables Baby Sweater” called to me. I found some really nice cotton/soy yarn in a lilac color and I started it last night (come on cable guy!!!) I am stalled right now, I had to ask a newbie question, but I do have pictures! I am also almost finished with April’s skirty. I adore it and must remember to take a few pictures of the progress.
I will post all the pictures as soon as I can! In the meantime, I am feverishly cleaning and washing laundry!
