Battle of Knits

I'm just trying to keep it real… while knitting.

I joined a congo…

http://hyenacart.com/Home2Home/ I joined the Home 2 Home Congo. I will be stocking my items with some other mamas who make diapers. There is some nice diapers and other things in the congo, so be sure and check it out! There is nothing more wonderful than cloth diapering… well, except supporting stay at home Moms!

I am going to let my Hyena Cart lapse, since it is cheaper to go with the congo and it easier to advertise when you have 7-8 other Moms helping! I can also focus more on stocking the congo. Stop by and check it out, tell me what you think!

Applewood skirty is finished!

I finally finished the skirty! Those take up uite a bit of yarn! 2 full skeins of “applewood” malabrigo and a lot of TLC! Well worth it though as long as Rachel sends some pictures of her daughter modeling it. I love this patten. Ladybug skirty, I purchased it from Ravelry. Have I mentioned how much I love Ravelry? I cannot get over it. Sometimes I sit a sift through patterns for longer than I care to admit. It is certainly curing my BBC habit. Which is good, since I should not be having another baby any day soon.
Speaking of babies, Josh’s boss is having a girl! His wife found out yesterday and I think I am more excited than they are, because I am already planning some beautiful crochet/knit baby items!
Here are my latest pics:

On my needles: the “firey” scarf… It will be my first knitting project, how exciting!
The skirty for Rachel! She makes some lovely handmade items and we are trading. I cant wait to see pictures and hear the feedback on this skirty! 100% merino wool, applewood malabrigo.
I had to have a real life model to gauge the waist, so since my son was the closest baby on hand, he was the victim… er, I mean model! Shhh! Its our secret, he never has to know!

Playing catch-up!

So as we speak I am currently crocheting a skirty for Rachel and it is gorgeous! (pics on next post!) I just love the color she chose, Applewood. I expect to finish tonight.
On the needles… currently I have ditched the crappy wool that came free with my starter kit and I have opted to use this yarn:

It is a miscellaneous impulse buy from Etsy. Merino in a lace weight.
I guess it will make a nice scarf?
I am playing catch-up, after having Josh’s parents here for 3 weeks, things are settling back into routine. Boo gets sad after having so much attention from so many people and then when they leave he is stuck with just me… It makes it a bit hairy for the first week after they go. So I have been trying to play catch-up and post the pictures I forgot to post. Speaking of pictures, we went to Kanapaha Gardens on Saturday and it was a bright sunny day and sweltering hot. I was meeting up with a guy I had emailed who was advertising free photography on freecycle. His heart was in the right place, but his pictures came out terrible. Blurry and the colors were not very good. He offered to re-shoot, but I really dont know if I am up to it! Thankfully the day was not a total wash, since Josh’s mother took pictures with her camera as well.
Maybe she could have a career as a photographer? Her pictures always come out wonderful!
